Just a quick update:

Today was a real good day. It started off a little rough…
1. We had to wake up early
2. We were running late
3. The dog snuck out… twice
4. I couldn’t find the right house key for about five minutes
5. We were almost late for the bus, or so I thought
6. The stupid farecard machine wouldn’t take my money, so Brandy had to pay with her card
7. lame

However, after we got into Washington we headed straight for the Holocaust Museum. It was pretty legit, and had some interesting stuff inside. I’m glad we didn’t pay, though, because we breezed through half of the exhibits because a) we didn’t want to read, and b) it was depressing. After that, we headed for some food in the Ronald Reagan National Trade Center, or whatever it is, and ate in the food court. After lunch, we got some really great gellati/o(?) from Gelatissimo. It was pretty much the most delicious mango gelati I’ve ever had. Seriously. Brandy got chocolate mousse flavored, which I really don’t understand at all… Gelati should be fruity. Not chocolatey.

Anyways, after that, we hit up the freakin $9 National Aquarium. TOTALLY worth it… NOT. For being the National Aquarium, one would think the place would be pretty legit and filled to the brim with fish and sharks and crap like that. But really, it was a real dinky place, complete with a funky smelling “interactive area” which had… nothing. (; The gift shop was overpriced and super smelly, too. So… I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking to visit Washington. My cousin says that the Baltimore aquarium is pretty legit, and I wouldn’t mind going there sometime in my life. Brandy, unlike me, pretty much loved the aquarium. I think it was all the bright colors and funny looking fish. Whatever. (;

ALSO! After the aquarium we spent a good 2.5 hours in the Starbucks on Pennsylvania/E and 13th! It was nice, but super small. But then we went and saw a FREE dance show at the National Theatre, which is not what we were expecting at all. it was really cool, though, and the dancers really impressed me. I think I only got a couple of good photos during it, and I plan on sending a few of them to the girl who choreographed the whole thing. Her name is Aysha Upchurch and she is the founder of the Life, Rhythm, Move Project. It was a really cool show that she put together, even though the beginning scared me a little. I remember thinking, “uh-oh…. I hope the whole thing isn’t like this…” But then the pace was really picked up and I ended up loving it. True story.

So, that was our day.

(;

I like hearing what you have to say. (:
