I don’t even know if I have enough energy in me to write this whole thing… but I’ll give it a go.
Today, we went to the zoo. Sydney was taken out of school early so she could hang out with us. I am glad about this because she is a wonderful young woman… I like her very much. (: yay for being cousins!
Anyways, we went to the freaking zoo. I love the freaking zoo. Do you even know, dear reader, how much I love the zoo? All those animals! It makes my heart happy. Anyways, so we went to the zoo. At the zoo, we walked uphill most of the way. We also complained and grumbled. And we also got to see lots of cute, interesting, and just downright ugly animals. But I got a few really nice pictures, especially of the elephants, and by “really nice” I mean that I think they are pretty decent for 2 ton animals. (;
After the zoo we hit up Chinatown. That was interesting. (:
then we went to the Jefferson Memorial, where we hiked up stairs and complained some more, and then sat and relaxed on the afore mentioned stairs and looked out at the huge lake thing(??).
Then we went to the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts where we got to hear the classics come alive through the talented fingers of a cellist, a bassist, and a violinist, as well as hear a girl play the oboe at an exceptional level. Mind you, all these kids were in the national youth orchestra. How sick is that? And, the concert was free. Hollaaaa! (; I like free stuff… a lot!
After the free concert we headed down to Ben’s Chili Bowl on U street and ate some great chili stuff that we will probably be regretting tomorrow. (; But seriously, Ben’s has been in the same location for over fifty years. If you’re ever in the Washington area, I definitely recommend you going to Ben’s for dinner one night. Sure, it’s crowded and the music is played loudly, but the people behind the counter were genuinly nice… and I’m pretty sure Ben was hanging out talking with a few locals.
What am I missing?
Oh, and then we went to Baskin Robbin’s, as if Ben’s Chili wasn’t enough. (; yay for being gluttonous? Oh well.
So… that was my day in a nutshell. I’d also just like to throw out there how much I really love and appreciate my cousins. They have been so wonderful to Brandy and myself, and I am really glad that we came up here for spring break. We only have two more full days here, and I can feel my heart getting a little sad already. I don’t really want to leave — it’s been so much fun! Today has definitely been the best though, and it was filled with laughter and a lot of love.
Heather, you are pretty much the greatest cousin I have, and I love it. And I love you. And I am so glad that my mom and your dad are siblings, and I am so glad that we are both I/ENFP’s, and that we are so much alike. It makes me really happy knowing that one day I will be as cool as you are. (; Love you, so much.
Love to all.
Megan.
I like hearing what you have to say. (:
