Photography

There’s some things in life that people are just sort of kind of good at. I think that one of my “things” is photography. And it’s not that I think I’m some amazing photographer who just blows people away with my mad photo skills, because I’m pretty sure my mad photo skills are just the continuous snap-snap-snap of the camera and I just sort of happen to get a really good picture every once in a while.

Nonetheless, I love photography, and I love playing the role of photographer. I love being able to make someone laugh, and then snap a photo real quick and catch that look of happiness. I think it’s the happiness I love catching most of all. The caught-up-in-the-moment pictures. The oh-my-gosh-that-just-happened-face pictures. I love those ones. That’s why today, during a photoshoot I did with a friend for Allison and Jeff who are having a baby, I got a lot of the funny faces and laughing photos. I didn’t see Brittany’s photos at all (Brittany is the professional who I worked with today), but I feel like she got more of the really good, really wonderful serious photos. And I cracked a joke and kinda maybe stood in the way and snapped the pictures that gave Allison and Jeff triple chins and closed eyes and all that horrible stuff that no one wants in a photo. But don’t worry, I deleted the really horrible ones. (;

However… I did get a few good ones, I think… here are some, but don’t you dare steal them. (:

Jeff and Allison are one couple that are really dear to my heart. (: Together we share a passion for Rapha House, a mutual loathing of human trafficking as a whole, and we also share a love of Jesus. (: Allison is probably one of the most wonderful women I know, and I cannot wait to meet their son, Judah, in April! He has the best parents, and the best freaking aunt in the world (me!). That kid is going to be so spoiled. (:
